Knife River Indian Villages
National Historic Site ND
Sacagawea's Village: I can imagine her living in a circular earthlodge atop the indentation, top left; she and Otter Woman (Charbonneau's other Shoshone wife) working in the garden, scraping hides, and drying meat. She may have dropped bone shards, above, that got buried. She may have walked to the Knife River, running past the village, to carry fish back to the lodge.
