Sacagawea's
Village: I can imagine her living in a circular earthlodge atop the
indentation, top left; she and Otter Woman (Charbonneau's other Shoshone
wife) working in the garden, scraping hides, and drying meat. She
may have dropped bone shards, above, that got buried. She may have
walked to the Knife River, running past the village, to carry fish
back to the lodge. |
